Kathmandu, Nepal

This will be my entry on Kathmandu. The perks of having a travel journal. You write it down. Close the book. Open it again few months later, you will remember the places you have visited. Even the tiniest detail that you probably have forgotten! It has been a few months since my last trip to Nepal, and it seemed like its been too long. Reading back on the notes, I think it is high time to me to transfer everything down here, and probably leave the itsy-bitsy detail in my book. It was my first visit to Nepal, and I certainly hope it will not be the last. Our first day setting foot in Nepal was Kathmandu. The busy streets, the locals, hikers, tourists, bikes, cars and the dusty roads is exactly what I've pictured prior setting foot here. Experiencing it on the other hand is another story. Wee morning in Kathmandu. I love how the mornings here is chilly in March and before the roads get all dusty and warm, it is then the city comes to life! The colorful and pre...

Wadi Rum, Jordan

My first desert experience. This post are mostly pictures from the day trip in Wadi Rum. I was lucky to visit this protected site also known as the valley of the moon. We started early in the morning to the desert from Petra, further south of Jordan to the Wadi Rum Visitor's Centre. Here the weather is still pretty cool in November. Since we didn't take the 'traditional' way travelling in the desert by riding camels, we go the modern way! 4x4!! Here in the picture the Bedouins are setting up our ride for the day. Splendid views - our guide explained to us how the Bedouin tribe lived and how they travel from one desert to another. What amaze me is that the people here are really friendly. We made a stop on the higher area of the desert where I get to feel the desert trail. I wish that we could stay longer at the desert and learn a thing or two from the tribe. We stopped at one of the campsite and I can tell that this place is l...

Germany

MEILERHUTTE, GERMANY/ AUSTRIA My fave shot taken by my friend Holger. I was looking into the horizon admiring the mountains beyond.

panorama shots & traveling preferences

From the top: Mount El-Deir, Jordan Annapurna Region, Nepal Mount Yong Yap, Malaysia Rinjani, Indonesia Never limit your travels. Make it your own and cherish the time while you travel.  When it comes to travelling, I try not to limit my journeys only to focus on a particular theme say, "Jungles Only". I try to mix it as much as I am able to.  Personal Traveling Preference :  I prefer the going-on-foot on my travels as it gives me the satisfaction of the great outdoors. Not under a bumbung or in a building. 😊 Afterall, I will be bound to the desk in office from 9-5pm everyday, the feeling of being outside and roam freely is the ultimately priceless!  The sky is the limit. I feel at peace. I feel free.  🍃🍂🌳🍁

Ramadhan Mileage

Busiest month of the entire year! Audit! Ramadhan came and go, and for any company with a 31st December financial year end, also means the busiest month for this bean counter. After completing Trail Running May, I realise training in the next few months will be a mix of trail and road runs. Hiking is also compulsory as it remains my #1 passion. I have combined my mileage from June until end of Ramadhan (1 June - 17th July) and guess what? I actually hit the 100km mark. SO PROUD OF MYSELF! Cumulatively I have only ran 67.72km for July alone. I still have a week plus left to run as much as I can to hit whatever number until the end of the month. With a few races to run and a Full Marathon, I need to train harder for August till October. Here's to Ultra running prep. Will be saying Hello to the gym more often now. Erkkk!

Trail Running May

A short entry to celebrate May 2015 May has been a wonderful month of me in the period of self-finding. Not that I am lost, but for the sake of me trying everything and to give full commitment on it. I marked May 2015, the month for me to do nothing but join trail running events and here it is: 1- Xterra Langkawi - 21km (proud to say i placed 3rd in my category) 2. Deuter Trail Run Putrajaya - 12km (finisher) 3. King of Kemensah Trail Run - 21km (finisher) happy girl! Xterra Trail Run was pretty tough - the 1st 10km had me thinking hy I did sign up for a running competition when I could just enjoy the holiday here in Langkawi. The weather was perfect and the company was great, but running? haha. The trail led me to probably the peak of Telaga Tujuh and it was crazy! At the 11th km I met a fellow runner and had to ask how far the run covered so far, having knowing the km covered and theres only 10k to go had me a little teary. Tears of joy that there was only 10 to go!...

Kemensah Krazy Trail Running

12 April 2015. I'm going to skip Jordan, Batu Puteh and Annapurna Base Camp entry for now. I just did a 15km trail running last Sunday and it was amazing! Organised by Asian Trail Explorers, I would say it was done pretty well. No corporate sponsors, 100% on its own. Kudos! #kohado? It was my first time trail running here in Kemensah and it was not what I have expected. The trail actually is 90% trail/ jungle and 10% tarmac road. How did I feel throughout the whole race? I felt like I was back in my element. Trees, bushes, the crazy hike up the hills, the jungle breeze, the river crossing, the list will go on and on, I better stop here. I finished in 2 hours 42 mins. Placing? Not known until today. Maybe there will be results? Maybe not? I think I did pretty well. Good exposure training for my next trail running for Xterra 2015 in Langkawi this year, Deuter and King of Kemensah that will all take place in May this year. For the time being, training will commence, mo...

Gua Azan, Tapah

Just another overdue post. Alot went on since my last post. Work and play. Technically play is training. LOL. Trying to squeeze work, which at the time deals with GST and among other things. Just starting to work on the videos from my trips. Here's Gua Azan, in Tapah, Perak. Doesnt really look like a gua to me but a block of rock until I get there to explore myself. It is HUGE! I was lucky to have gone to this trip. Really happy!

Jordan : Wadi Rum

My journey continues, in Wadi Rum, South Jordan. If I were to repeat the whole journey all over again, I would definitely like to spend more time here. It was only a day tour, but if I were to stay overnight, I could probably master the art of taking pictures of the night sky. Wadi Rum, is located in the South part of Jordan. The desert area is protected by the Jordanian government. This place is also home to the Bedouin tribe. Nomadic and resourceful, they also make a living as the tour guides in this beautiful desert. There is no word to describe the beauty of the desert but to appreciate one of God's greatest creation on earth. My first time in a desert.Coming from as Asian country, this is one of the coolest place to visit This is a short video I made on Wadi Rum with whatever footage I manage to record.  Enjoy!
